| I just got my Z back on the road this past Sunday. Back in early April and nearly a week after my Z was resprayed, my 'new' 1995 NA motor with 136k and 3k miles on the swap decided to kill itself. This was the motor that replaced my original one with 271k miles. This motor was bad news from the beginning with leaking oil and a strange whining sound. I bought the motor when it was already out of the car and I HIGHLY recommend avoiding that. At SpecialtyZ, I learned that it had low compression on one cylinder. I got the 120k done because we all thought it could last me through college if I was easy on it. However 800 miles later, it spun a rod bearing. NOTE: If the pics don't show here's the album [ http://s1158.photobucket.com/albums/p620/nba_med/ ]  I was contacted by a member on this forum about a motor in one of his parts cars. 1991 300zx with 86k miles with motor still in the car. I ended up taking a trip from San Diego to Santa Barbara and had to pull it out before the sun went down. That sure was fun, haha. Then was the wait for parts and to prep everything up.
What's new/performed:
-Stillen headers sprayed with black ceramic coating
-BDE Billet motor mounts. These are state of the art-awesome.
-Old->new style injector conversion. All because I couldn't use my new style rail on this 91' motor.
-BlackholeZ aluminum VTC caps (so awesome)
-PCV/water lines on back of motor DELETED. Welded the pipes shut. You can change the heater core hoses with the motor in now. I can also see the top tranny bolts lol.
-New OEM detonation sensor & sub-harness
-Relocated fuse box
-Relocated power steering reservoir
-PCV Bypass
-B&M Auto Tranny Cooler
-Scrubbed the plenum and got all the oil out/cleaned the motor as best I could + All the gaskets and new hoses you should replace while a motor is out.
